.avif)
The Solo Connect Personal Alarm is one of MePACS newer and more popular products. Its ability to detect hard falls, automatically raise an alert and then allow the wearer to speak directly to our Melbourne-based emergensy response team is quite literally life-saving.
Your Solo Connect Personal Alarm watch will be delivered to you with a charger and a User Guide booklet. Our ‘unboxing’ video below takes you through what to do when you first get your Solo Connect.
Once you have charged and activated the device with the MePACS team, you can go about wearing it just like a normal wristwatch.
How do you raise an alert through your watch?
Raising an alert is easy. Just tap the alert icon at the bottom of your watch face and the MePACS team will respond in less than two minutes.
When should you raise an alert?
- If you feel unsafe
- If you feel unwell
- If you have a medical emergency
- If you are lost and unsure of your surroundings
- If you experience a fall
How does the falls detection in the watch work?
In Australia, falls account for more than 30% of hospitalisations for people aged 65 and over. The Solo Connect is equipped with falls detection technology that uses a combination of sensors, to monitor movement and detect sudden changes. When a fall is detected, the watch is immediately activated and sends an alert to our MePACS team.
FAQ
If you can talk to the MePACS team through the watch, does that mean you can talk to other people too?
As a dedicated safety device, the Solo Connect cannot be used to talk to other people. Its primary function is to connect you to the MePACS Emergency Response Team who rapidly assist when you need help.
Can I download other apps to the Solo Connect?
Unfortunately, no. Other apps can interfere with the MePACS emergency response software, limiting the watch’s ability to keep you safe.
How will the watch know where I am if I have a fall?
The Solo Connect is GPS enabled, meaning it can show the MePACS team where you are located. This means if you were to have a fall when not at home, we can send an ambulance or family member to assist you promptly.
Wouldn’t I be better off to simply buy a smart watch from a retailer?
Some smart watches do have a fall detection mechanism and will send an SMS to a family member or friend, who may not respond quickly, or know what to do.
The MePACS Solo Connect provides guaranteed fast support—24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our Melbourne-based emergency response team will contact you through your watch and provide the right help. With a MePACS Solo Connect Personal Alarm you can enjoy genuine peace of mind knowing that help is always at hand. Our trained emergency response monitors are knowledgeable and experienced. They assess the situation and know exactly what to do to get you the right help.
